NLP Phone Coaching for Business Productivity
NLP phone coaching for business productivity is one of the BEST ways to Quantum Leap your business.
NLP is a veritable goldmine of techniques for increasing your own personal productivity as well.
My name is Alexander Van Buren. I am a Certified NLP master practitioner, innovator, and trainer.
I have 23 years of experience helping business owners increase the output of their business and their own personal effectiveness using NLP.
Let’s do some NLP right now on this web page.
I’m going to guide you through a few simple steps for getting a breakthrough in your business productivity using principles from Neuro-linguistic Programming.
You may want to take out a piece of paper so you can make some notes.
NLP Can Increase The Output of Any System
Step 1: What Does Business Productivity Mean to You?
In NLP, and especially my NLP phone coaching for business productivity, we’re very outcome oriented.
But not in the way you might think. We specify outcomes in very unique ways. In fact, just calling them “outcomes” instead of “goals” is a mind-shift.
Create A Rich Representation
So the first place to start is to ask yourself exactly what having increased productivity would look like to you. It’s important to be specific. Here I recommend that you specify TWO types of productivity.
- The productivity of your business (this means its output in sales, # of products, team performance, level of service, etc.)
- Your own personal productivity and effectiveness.
Your own personal effectiveness impacts your business directly. So the two are very intertwined and operate in confluence.
They’re a system and are completely interrelated, so it’s important to address both types of productivity.
If your business was twice as productive as it is now, what would that be like? Describe it as accurately as you can.
What would you be seeing and hearing that is different from how it is now?
Be Very Specific
It’s not ok to just say “I want to be more productive” or “I want my business to be more productive”.
The reason is that that type of outcome description is entirely too vague. It doesn’t give our inner resources anything to grab onto. So be very specific in both your words and your pictures.
If you cannot picture what you’re saying, it’s not specific enough. Do you want an increase in sales? How much? Name the number. Do you want more leads every month? How many? And what type? More referrals? How many exactly?
Want your staff to be more productive? How exactly? What behaviors will they be doing that let you know they’re more productive?
On paper, define a new level of productivity both for your business AND for yourself in very specific terms. This alone will give you an amazing amount of clarity, an activates the subconscious mind in an entirely different way.
So take all the time you need to do this.
Then ask yourself what it would look like if YOU were twice as productive? What would you be doing differently? Imagine a day or a week where you are twice as productive as you are now.
Describe it on paper and note the specific things you’re doing (in your imagination) that make you so much more productive. It’s not important that you see the images you’re creating in your mind perfectly. Just get a feel for them, and imagine them as best you can. Be sure to make the images DISSOCIATED.
That means to imagine another you as if on a movie screen, being more productive.
This will allow you to remain more emotionally detached and edit the scenes more easily. You have more control this way.
Use an Evidence Procedure
How will you know when you and your business are more productive? How will you measure each area of increased effectiveness? This is an important decision to make and a method to choose.
There’s no right or wrong answer.
In summary, the 3 simple steps you’ve taken are very powerful.
If you need help with any of them, I’m happy to provide that help during a FREE NLP phone coaching for business productivity session.
- Create a rich representation of your outcome
- Clarify your outcome very specifically
- Create and use an evidence procedure for fulfillment (and a sense of progress)

Let’s talk about you and your business and see how I can help you.
Step 2: What Stops You From Being More Productive Already?
Simple Steps to Increased Productivity
This is a very helpful question. it brings up the limits of your own model so you can take a look at them objectively. Get them out on the table so to speak.
So where do you feel you’re stuck? What appears to prevent you from already being twice as productive on a personal level?
And what is stopping your business from being more productive?
Write down your answers to these questions.
Step 3: What Resources Do You Need
The NLP change model and all my NLP phone coaching for business productivity sessions begin with a problem state; in this case ‘lack of productivity’.
It then clarifies an outcome state; “Increased productivity”.
Then it generates and uses resources as the bridge from the problem state to the outcome state.
So now let’s look at the bridge between your problem state and your outcome state: Resources.
So what resources do you need? More importantly, on what LEVEL are those resources? In NLP, we give a lot of importance to “the levels on which change occurs”. The level of resources is important because change is created differently on the various levels.
In other words, it requires different resources, methods, and techniques to create change on different levels. These levels include:
- Actions and Habits
- People & Connections
- Emotions
- Understanding & Knowledge
- Identity or Role
- Beliefs
- Values
- Environmental Changes
- Technology
- Skills and capabilities
Make a list of what you feel you need in order to get “increased productivity” both for your business and again, for yourself.
For example; say you want to double your sales. Ok, what resources do you need to do that? What level are they on?
Do you need sales training? That’s a skill. What about a sales teacher or trainer? That’s on the level of people.
On a personal level, you may want to put in two more work hours every day on special projects. That’s TEN extra hours of productive work per week. What do you need to create this habit? This is a change at the level of behavior.
Levels of change can overlap. For example, what would you have to believe about yourself or about your energy level, to make those two more hours of work a habit?
By identifying what precise resources you need and on what level of change they exist, you can create a kind of Resources Matrix for attaining your outcome.
